This is my 80 Mirada. I purchased it from a friend in 1995 for $40. It had a 360-4v and a lot of potential. From about 1996 through about 1998 it appeared it two different "rat rod" all primer paint jobs. I am currently finishing the repair work on the body and starting on a suspension overhaul and upgrade. Later I will be putting a 4sp overdrive automatic in.

day it came home

Black "rat rod" 1997

june 5 2003, started the tear down and rebuild

The engine bay was nasty, with paint over grease in some places.

Bye-Bye opera windows!

Looking better!
onward to 2007

The C-pillars are finished, and most of each side, other than the lower left quarter are almost complete

This is the VFN Fibreglass tail panel I ordered to replace my rotted extensions, and coroded aluminum bumper.

Bonded the brackets and liscense plate bucket in place.

It took some modifiying, since this was intended as a race peice, to make it work for a street car. Unfortunately there was some damage to the quarters that i couldn't see until I had good parts.

Left side cowl brace, much heavier than stock

Right side cowl brace, I have made some changes to them in 2008.
Now for some Suspension work
looks pretty bad

A little paint and a few small repairs is all the K-member needed

some white epoxy for durability

Some goodies from Firm Feel, and some AREngineering control arm plates.

some billet peices for a tighter frontend, from CudaZappa.
