I finally got it home from the body shop. It was there about a year and a half. I've been working on this car almost 4 years now and I've had this exact car pictured in my head for many years before that. It's starting to finally come together. A friend of mine owns the body shop and although I did a lot of the work myself it was still a $10K paint job. The paint turned out beautifully though.
Some shots of the painting process.
It spent several months on the rotissorie, cleaning up welds, completely sanding underneath, painting, and installing brake and fuel lines.
Engine installation.
After paint, block sanding, and buffing, there was lots of hand polishing to do. Naturally I got stuck with the job.
It sure looks a lot better now.
I'm trying to find some pics of it before I started working on it. If I can find any I'll post them here.
