The 351w is out of a 1974 T-Bird the valves were ground and it was punched .30 over. If any of you out there know any thing about aftermarket heads give me some advise.

+++ I need to find a automatic transmission for my car but all i have is the 4 speed. what do i use

OMFG how the hell could you diss on that sickass 712RWHP Stang sayin' you'd smoke it? That's sad mad, he'd be done you'd be halfway done trying to find 60 MPH. As for aftermarket heads, try trick flow or DARTs, just try and get some 302 heads and put them on that 351 block (this will up the compression, I have 1964 1/2 heads on my 302 which are really fucking relics of performance and hard as hell to find, not to mention worth a pretty penny, but they make the stang what it is really) Try the smaller heads for the higher compression, get second opinions too, just be sure and get custom pushrods and some hardass valves so they can stand up and be for daily driving. Another you may wanna do with them is to port them, with all the compression from them, you will want to maximum the flow of air through them, so that the expanding air (which will be expanding much more because of all the compression that will be yielded) anyways just port, match, and polish them and you'll see they will bring your times down, RWHP way up, RWTQ way up, and compression way up as well, it's a good idea for any stang owner to use a smaller head type to up compression, it's kind of a "secret" as most people don't put 351-302 shit together, but it works well. Get another opinion and if they say it's a bad idea they're retarded, if they agree then there ya go :D But trick flow and DART are some of the best around. Also if you're deciding on tranny type, T-5 is the shit, but there's a lot of work to be done like drilling the clutch holes in the firewall and just making sure everything fits snug without making new "vents" for yourself. Check out my '91 GT sometime. UI like your project so far, keep me posted. Clean Stangs make GM owners drool! Cya Andre

probably dont seem normal a chevy owner complimentin a ford guy but i like em all and i really dig these older 5.0s. as far as heads go, check air flow research (AFR) out, i have personally not had any experience with them or anything but everyone i have talked to says they are incredible flowin heads and there all cnc ported etc. little pricy but definatly worth it.
