BRIEF HISTORY:
This car was built as a prototype for the Strictly Foriegn KIMA Wide Body Kit. After hours of design work, seven months developing the kit and almost three long years of headaches, we are left with what you see here today. As you can see, this Civic's appearance has been completely transformed to include a one off custom metallic paint color from Sherwin Williams, custom finished interior plus shaved and molded body by Shafer's Collision & Customs Inc, a JDM Type R suspension, brake and 5 lug conversion, a carbon fiber headliner, and much much more..... For more info, Check out the specs below! or visit www.widebodycivic.com
Upon starting this project the car's intended use was to develop a prototype for a new product from Strictly Foreign, Inc. After doing so, this car became the fist car ever to have the KIMA wide body kit. This kit is now available for many makes and models due to the overwhelming success of the product. The actual molds for the 96-00 civic kit were built from this car. Don't believe me? You can see the whole project build by visiting the gallery page at www.widebodycivic.com Every step of the cars progress has been photographed and can be seen on the site.
This civic is also the first car ever to be sponsored by Sherwin Williams Automotive and is painted with a custom color you cannot buy anywhere. Yes you heard me correctly, Sherwin Williams doesn't just make house paint. If you can't tell in the pictures, the car is a deep metallic gold which turns a pale orange in certain lighting. It turns an intense shade of gold in the direct sunlight and under flourescent or arificial lighting at night the lime pearlcoat creates a combination of colors you have to see to believe.
You may notice the car since it has been used in various print and online advertising campaigns in the last four to five years including local and national publications. The car was also used for a custom event display, store display and national advertising campaign for Stylin' Strings, one of north america's largest growing lacrosse equipment manufacturers. They've even created a custom lacrosse stick that mocks the design and color scheme of the car. The stick is one of a kind and is not for sale with the car. These are just few among many marketing purposes. A couple months prior to starting the project a brand new motor was installed by Honda under their warranty program due to issues with the prior engine. The D16 SOHC V-Tec replacement motor that is in the car now has less than 5000 miles on it since installation. The car itself has about 97,000 miles on it, but almost everything on the car is new. This car has tons of high quality aftermarket upgrades, countless hours of custom work and truely is one of a kind. More details below.

*After lucking out and getting a brand new motor for free under Honda's warranty, I decided not to spend a ton of money swapping or upgrading it. It was installed by Honda prior to starting the project and has less than 5,000 miles on it. Besides the fact that I don't drive the car enough to even enjoy a fully worked motor I already had plans on selling it and I didn't want to add a turbo or anything that would create any questionable wear and tear to the new engine. I'll leave that up to who ever buys it.
