A nice view of the T3 turbo.UPDATE 12/27/12Hahahaha oh boy.  I'm gonna be old and grey before this project is over.  Been over 2 years since I've updated this, since my last updated so many life changes, graduated college, started a full time Engineering job, bought my 2012 focus, sadly the Fiero just seemed to kinda take a back seat.  Not to say nothing has been happening though.  I hit one major bump when I found out I needed to tear my engine completely apart and start anew because of a horrible original choice for pistons, hypereutectic pistons don't play nice w/ boost....  So what do I do? Why throw in some Diamond forged pistons of course, didn't really document the build the second time cause it's all the same stuff, just more annoying....But anyways, here's where I stand today, tantalizingly close.

Haha this page is just for fun.  I will claim though that partial inspiration for doing my build is because of cars like this.  Can't wait till my cars done and RICEr (Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements) cars like these come up and rev on me and I just laugh and trash them.  These pics were all taken by me and I'll update as I make more hilarious finds.

Finally! I got my new/old & dirty engine today lol, 3.4 v6 out of a early-nineties camaro/firebird. Bone stock it's makin 160hp (nothing to get excited about i know), but a nice 210 lbft of torque good for an increase of 20 hp and 50 lbft over the stock fiero 2.8. Although when i'm done it'll be making a lot more than that, best part is i got it for 50 bucks :)

Here's my 86' Pontiac Fiero GT. I got it back in may of '05 and it's pretty much been a constant work in progress with stuff breaking and me fixing it. Finally i think i've gotten it to the point where it's a fairly reliable daily driver so i can start with all the fun stuff, Please rate and drop me a comment, thanks!List of everything replaced/restored: rebuilt distributor, new cap and wires rebuilt headlight motors (one was stuck always up) new tie rods new cv joints new higher flow bosch fuel pump bosch 02 sensor resurfaced flywheel new lock mechanism in rear decklid new delco starter only ever used mobil-1 full synthetic oil replaced various broken interior trim pieces new slave and master clutch cylinders new brake lines, pads, resurfaced rotors and rebuilt calipers flushed the fuel tank of sediment and deposits new seat belt buckle (old one looked like it had been chewed up by a dog, lol go figure) new wiper blades new ignition key cylinder all new coolant tubing new duralast water pump w/ new beltperformance mods, not a whole lot yet but here goes: kyb gr2 front shocks rear struts custom ordered 350 lb linear spring rate adjustable rear coilovers and 1.5 in. front drop springs made by eibach from west coast fiero (haha thats a mouthful) k&n highflow air filter centerforce dual friction stage III clutch (check out my other pages for the serious performance mod, turbo 3.4 engine swap)rims/tires: staggered 18x8 excel ennio's in the rear with 17x7's up front with nice wide bf goodrich g-force sport 245/40/18's in the back and 215/45/17's on the frontsinterior mods: only a sony xplod deck powering 4 pioneer 2-way speakers don't really plan on doing much of anything here, mainly just restoration work which is pretty much done, maybe some recaro's to replace my torn and getting worse stock seats sometime down the road

5/5/09  Finally!!  It's been wayyyyyy too long since I've had an update.  Here's the block totally stripped down, cleaned, repainted flat black and most importantly, machined and tapped for some 4 bolt main caps.  I think my block would blow apart before my bottom end gets trashed now. Bring on the boost!!Replacing 2 of these....

Got it stripped down pretty much all the further it's gonna go.  Got most of the things I need for my new engine off, cleaned, painted and installed on my new engine. Engine Update!!!!!!! 4/28/10Well this one has been a long time coming.  This whole project is taking way longer than I originally hoped, partially due to unforseen event and/or personal lazyness lol.  I definately plan on this being done sometime during the summer though.

Wasn't planning on this originally but I came across an opportunity to buy an engine cradle from an '88 fiero, which is much much better than the cradles used in the '84-'87's, completely redesigned suspension geometry.  Just got this a couple days ago and plan on getting it completely stripped down to bare metal, then powdercoated black.  Ignore he old exhaust behind it, lol although as you can infer it's out of the tree now.  Literally got a letter from the city saying to take it down cause it looked trashyUPDATE 5/3/10

Engine is done!!! Got this finished about a week ago but haven't gotten around to updating yet.  '88 subframe should be getting back from being stripped and powdercoated this weekend then I can start mounting up the engine and tranny.UPDATE 9/13/10Ugh it's been a busy summer with class and full time work so the swap hasn't progressed as quickly as I had hoped.  Thats not to say i didn't get anything done though, engine is all finished up with accessory brackets/pulleys and belt, tranny has everything needed to do the swap and the cradle is powdercoated with and mounts in attached and ready to go.  I'm lookin at doin the swap early October sometime. (earliest I can use my friends garage and engine puller)
