INTERIOR
This page is for the interior of my 1963 Dodge Dart.

Original Idea

I originally made doorpanels, kickpanels and other interior parts with aluminum, and painted the rest of the interior Gloss Black. That was from when I was going to make the car into a drag car.
Since the car will now be more of a street car, I have decided to remove the aluminum panels and replace them with ones made from some 1/8th inch board.

SEATS
On June 16th, 2007, I bought a pair of seats from a 1993 Pontiac Sunbird for $70 from Pick-n-Pull.
They are the same seats as I have in my 70 Nova. They are very comfortable, and are in very great shape.
For the driver's side seat, I was able to use the Sunbird brackets in the Dart, so I could keep the sliders. I needed to add a couple of spacers to the left side. It fits and works great. I am satisfied with the seats.
I installed the passenger side seat as well on June 20, It went in easier than the driver's side did. It looks real good
now.

FIREWALL
I will not be using a back seat in the Dart, so I decided to make a firewall out of some board. It will be covered in carpet when I'm done, but that will be in time. It came out pretty good.
Here I attached a Dodge Motorsports license plate to it. It looks good.

DOORPANELS
When I first got my Dart, the driver's side door didn't have an inner panel. The passenger side did. So I decided to make some doorpanels out of some board, that way they would match.
I used the passenger side doorpanel to make a pattern.
Then I cut out the board with a jigsaw and rounded the edges with a file. I used a drill to cut out the holes for the handle and window crank.
Here's the driver's side ready to go on.
I attached it with sheetmetal screws. The armrest and handles help to hold it on as well.
Since I had the old passenger side doorpanel, I was able to use the chrome strip on my new doorpanel, which my driver's side doesn't have. It came out better and looks a lot better too.
I painted the doorpanels flat black for the time being.
Later on, I am going to cover them in some vinyl upholstery. I decided on Flat Black because the rest of the interior is Gloss Black and I thought it would look better. I think it does. I am going to redo the back doorpanels in this board material also, and paint them.

FLOORS
As you can see, the floors had some rust holes.
I made some patches out of sheet metal, and riveted them in place. They will work just fine. The passenger side used a much larger patch due to extensive rust.
I bought some thicker metal and am going to redo these patches the right way. First I have to find out where the water leak is coming from.

SEATBELTS
I bought some seatbelts from JC Whitney.
They were very easy to install.
First I drilled the holes for the lap belts. I bolted them in with large spacers on the bottom for support.
This is the passenger side.
I welded a bolt to the roof support, for the shoulder belt. then bolted the seatbelt to it.
Here's the driver's side buckled up.
