okay it's been over a year but i've been busy.
the car is now in perfect working order. i've got an eibach pro spring set for a 1.5" drop and a magnaflow straightpipe exhaust, currently fit to the stock muffler for lack of another option. i have a magnaflow universal muffler that i still need to weld some hangers to before i can fit it. i've ordered the bars from oddballautoparts' website so we'll see how that goes.
so um yeah. thats that; peace.

alright here's the update. i did blow the engine. its got a new one in it. a matching 3.0L V6 of course but this ones only got 12,000 miles on it. so i guess its a plus in the end. i still dont have the car back because it won't pass state inspection. they're working on the various sensors but its gonna be pricey when i do finally get it. new engine was $2800 and that was pretty reasonable. plus all the labor and sensors work. well... we'll see.

grr. alright heres the story. the stratus was leakin oil. just a little bit but enough. reason for that is it was in a pretty small wreck by the previous owner and not fixed properly. when i had been checking the oil and noticed it was a little low but not enough to make a big difference. i was drivin the car when i heard what sounded like lifters tapping. i figured the car had just run low on oil while i was driving it that time but instead of stopping right then and callin someone i decided to keep driving. (i was headed home anyway) so i drive home, and decide i should just change the oil. anyway, i did that and continued driving it.. and continued to hear that lifter tapping. yet again instead of takin it to a shop and havin it looked at, i just let it be. kept driving it then one day the car locked up on me completly, the engine went crazy jumpin from 2k rpm to 7k and back down and back up and so on. i've never seen a car act like that before. i pulled the e-break and got it stopped on the side of the road. scuffed the front bumper a little on a curb but i did the best i could. i couldnt steer, break, accelerate, shift, anything. everything had locked up. so i had it towed and now its at a shop. i probably blew the whole damn engine but we'll see.

Hey thanks for the comment. Im pearl01stratcpe on 2g by the way. You're ZeroRT right? Anyways, clean Stratus. Some things to "spice up" the stock look are mainly painted parts. As you know, there isnt a whole lot of aftermarket support for the cars, unless you plan on doing suspension. Painting calipers, under the hood accenting, and interior accenting are the simplest ways to bring your car out of the 'stock' look. :)

Thanks for commenting... As for the door handles. I wrapped them in that cheap fake CF vinyl that you can get at any auto parts store. Nothing fancy. Have you checked the 2gstratus.org forums? You'll find a LOT of "how to's" there for your Strat. I'm a pretty active poster on there... Come on over!

Nice lookin coupe. My srt-4 valve cover fit on my strat no problem, the only thing I needed was a couple hoses since the PCV valve was in a different location. I have the 2.4liter sedan though, I admire your 3.0.
