I want to take this moment to "Thank" everyone that had voted Sweet Lonie for Showoff. It really meant a lot to me, especially motivation wise, to know that what I was doing was working. I hope my pages and pics help other's working on their own project's. "Thanks" also goes out to the folks at CarDomain. All of you Rock!
The "Sweet Lonie Motto"........
........There are those that Dream....
.............and those that Do....
----------------------------------------------------------------
This is the 101 that started it all. When I added this Truck to Cardomain, there was not a listing for 101's. After writing to Cardomain about it, they made one, and here we are. Sometimes, all you have to do is ask. Working on Sweet Lonie has been a true learning experience. I have done restorations before, but never anything this old, or as in-depth. It's going to take some time, effort, and a lot of love for this project. It's funny, but, I've been a Member Since: Sep 26, 2005. I once had over 90,000 Hits on my Ride. Before I hit the big 100,000 my cars and Sweet Lonie were all deleted from Cardomain. (I blame Hackers). So now, I have reloaded this Truck three times.
You know what they say...Third Time's The Charm. I hope so......
<--------Please Rate Me Fairly....Thanks!.....I'll do the same for you.

Allow me to clarify something about 101's.
These are vehicles ID'ed by sequence, i.e., 100, 250, 350, and no that does not have anything to do with the motor. Example: 100's, then 101's, 102's, 103's.....I think you get the picture. My 101 left the Factory in April of 1956 with a 347 Small Block Chevrolet. Thats right. Thats not a typo. A 347. If you find one today, let me know. I'll buy it! You wont find one. There all gone. If you do. It's trashed, or still in the vehicle it came in, and still trashed. I would still like to have it for nostalga reason's.
Sweet Lonie currently has a 1958 235 in-line 6 cylinder Chevrolet for a heart. The Saginaw Three Speed put's her up to a mind-blowing 60 M.P.H. Hahaha. But, think about it, as low geared as she is, that's fast. If it's power your looking for, she rates at 214 bhp. A good logging chain, the right surface for traction, and I can pull your house from it's foundation.
Do that with a Honda!
These were the workhorses of the Fifties people. They don't build them like these anymore. You can hug a HEMI all you want. This Model, Year, even out classed it's Chevrolet 3100 counter-parts. GMC stood in a class all by themselves. Even Chevrolet spent years chasing after them. Basically, you could go so far to say, these were the "Sleeper's" of the 50's.
"nuff said".

The day she came home. As noted by this pic, the original wood floor was long gone. I dont know who brainstormed welding in a huge piece of metal, but the idiot did a horrible job.
Just another angle as the same mess above.
As she sat when she came home for the first day. People have told me that the $2,500.00 I paid for Sweet Lonie was pretty high, but I DROVE HER HOME from over Thirty miles away to get her home. You find a "STILL RUN'S" for cheaper!
The dent in the door will take a little work to get out, but for a Fifty year old truck, I'm not complaining about a little damage.
Worst looking interior I have ever seen. The previous owner even painted over the gauges.
Talk about an ugly grill.
Weather beaten and dull. Horrible paint job.
Special note. While stripping all this paint, I found 6 different colors under the red. The Original color was a Dark Green. I had fun figuring that out. I am not restoring the original color. I am leaving that for a surprise.
Ugly butt.
I was scared to pull the light. It may have never went back in.
I am going to use this side to make a new mount for the other side.
Little wiring repair going on here.
Temp fix to jacked up wiring.
You see the dent forward of the wheel well?
Just a shot of me and Sweet Lonie. Note on the white fender, knee deep into body work now. This truck is barely even together anymore. Hehehehe
If you have time, check out JerryNV, you would almost swear we were working on the same truck.
Here's one Bad Nova. My Man HEADTURNER73. He's been scorin' point's all over the Domain.
Also check out my long time Cardomain Bud SONOFVANITCH.
