My 1961 Impala
This is my pride and joy! I have owned her for around 12 years. It's pretty much stock apart from upgrading the two speed auto to a turbo 350 and a few exhaust mods. Most of the interior is original apart from the replacement carpet.
Learning about the history, this car was apparently factory built right hand drive in the US for a wealthy person in Australia. Then this car would have costed 3000pounds. For this type of money, you could have bought a 3 bedroom house! The local Chev Club also mentioned that this may in fact be the only 1961 four door sedan Impala in Australia as most ordered were for the pillarless models, and most people opted for the Belair so it's a real head turner!
My plans are to have it fully restored (this was done when i first purchased it) for her 50th birthday and looking at expanding the family with a 2dr coupe and/or convertible.
