I bought this truck on Valentines Day 2004 as a gift to myself. I had just returned from Iraq the 6th of Feb and got burned by the girl I had been with...apparently she couldn't wait..anyways..I ended up only gaining..unlike some girls...your truck is always faithful. Anyways, I had just returned from deployment so I had the cash to play with. I managed to find this toy hiding in Irvine, California...it already had the fiberglass Snugtop tonneau cover painted to match so thats one expensive item I didn't have to worry about. It had slightly high miles 70k...but I didn't mind...I already had visions of a larger engine being swapped into it in the future. All I am waiting for is to cross paths with a totalled '07 sierra with a 6.2 litre and its on like Donkey Kong. Now the important thing to remember here is....I do everything myself...I haven't paid anyone to install anything on my truck. I did have someone else paint the hood but all installation was done by myself.

This picture is one taken in So Cal with my buddy before I transitioned out of the Marines. He has a '02 Silverado on 22's all cleaned up w/ Altezza's as well as all front lights cleared up, plus a K&N intake w/ 3" exhaust.

As soon as I got it home the shopping began. I drove down to the nearest Best Buy and started picking out the Audio. $1,300 later I had 2x 10" Rockford Fosgate P2's, sealed boxes, a Pioneer DEH7800 Deck, Power Acoustic 980w amp, 1 farad Rockford Fosgate Capacitor and all required accesories. I mounted everything under the rear seats.

Next came the first cosmetics...the local car shop managed to help me pick up a set of Clear Corners, Clear Denali Headlamps and Carbon Fiber Altezza's for the rear...to match the Gun Metal Grey paint job...notice zero orange on my front end!!!

About a day later the first performance upgrades arrived...AEM Brute Force intake and Gibson Dual Extreme cat-back exhaust.

As anyone with a lifted truck knows...it can get a little difficult reaching into the engine bay...extreme situations call for extreme measures.

Once I transitioned out of the Marines I had to drive my truck from Southern California all the way up to New Hampshire...so being the intelligent person I am I still decided to go ahead and install a lift w/ larger tires. Hence forth came the 7" ProComp suspension lift w/ 35" ProComp Xterrains on 16" ProComp 6001 series rims...Chrome of course.

To make the trip a little more bareable I made another trip down to Best Buy to purchase the Sirius receiver that was compatable with my Pioneer deck and mounted it in the front center console right under where the 3 Cigarette Lighter plugs are..great location and is relatively hidden.

The very morning I was getting ready to leave California and drive north up I-5 on my way up to Oregon I picked up my Dominator Cowl Hood from the local paint shop and installed it. I drove to a nearby truck salvage shop and sold off all my stock items. No sense in hauling them cross country...nor did I have the room. Low and behold...driving cross country a small rock drew first blood and without even have the hood for 2 weeks it got its first damage...but hey, it had to happen sooner or later.

Once I got back to the northeast I couldn't help but find a little dirt...unfortunately I didn't think to get any good pictures and now here it is 5 months later and well into winter so the ground is too frozen to find any good mud so you'll have to wait until spring before you get to see any money shots...but here are a few to enjoy.

Once I got back I added another little item...a vinyl decal in the back window.

The most recent upgrade, just had an AstroStart remote start system installed so now I am set for those cold mornings, now to train myself to turn the heater on when I park it.

Great looking truck! Once a car full of girls took cell phone pics of me while I was literally inside the engine bay of my '84 working on the small block outside my apartment! Its up there 8" so there is no better way to work on it. Good luck with it.
