This is my 'sort of' project car. i am planning on tuning it for street use and for use on the odd ocassional track-day.

i purchased it in aug-2006 and it had apexi twin airfilters, hks down pipe, 5zigen mid-pipe(apparantly but have not checked) and a trust rear box. overall the bodywork needs tlc as does the interior, which is why it makes for a good project. origanally purchased for 2500 with a good solid engine.

when i bought it from rotechniks it required new rear bushes and a new clutch master cylinder. while it was there i had all the fluids changed.

since picking it up it's been treated to an apexi powerfc and a set of ultralite Daiki's in 18's with wide rear's as you can see.

i'm waiting on a set of stance coilovers from dme-motorsport( bought mid oct and there still not here:-S) also have new drop links for the front and a racing beat anti-roll bar brace waiting to be fitted. also have a momo steering wheel from another rx-7 to go in(possibly from a different model where it was fitted as standard)

my plan is to get to about 350 brakehorse power at the wheels on sequentials. i'm currently running about 240bhp at the flywheel(guesstimate) due to only 7.5psi of boost (although it does reach 10psi while in fifth doing 120mph+). so far the topspeed i have reached just over 170mph. which aint to bad :-) once the boost is sorted and i've got a few more bits on it that i'm after, it should be around 300bhp with a bit of luck.

just a few more pics...coilovers should be on in the next 2 weeks along with a racing beat anti-roll bar-brace

27th feb: just fitted xs power intercooler and am having to reposition the air filters due to the size of the intercooler and also need to make a blanking plate or get a BOV fitted on one of the intercooler pipes. a few more pics

10th march: fitted anodised pulleys and removed air pump due to the intercooler sitting a millimeter away from the air pump pulley and have order a blow-off-valve. coilovers are almost here but have to get the car mobile to get them fited and set-up:-(

24-march: BOV fitted and air filters moved around(slight twisted :-s) but all sorted. hmmm... now where are DME Motorsport with my coilovers

i've now sold my rx-7 due to change in job and have had to buy something that's suitable for the country roads :-(

yo sup man, nice FD, I got a question though, I'm trying to figure out if mine FD is a 1992 or a 1993, is your VIN smaller than FD3S-113909 or larger? Do you know a site where I can find info? I tried googling it and nothing... thanks man.

Hey man, your car is where its at! I absolutely love that car... especially with the staggered wheel setup, very nice addition. So just over 170mph? not too shabby considering the mods you've put into her. I see you're calling this Project Sidewinder.. have you been drifting with her at all? hit me back
