The_Corsica's 1990 Chevrolet Corsica This is my 1990 Chevy Corsica LT. She's decked out with P/L(in theory anyway), P/W, A/C, rear-defrost, 2.2L TBI with that unforgettable 8 3/4" round style air cleaner, 3-speed and the custom GM 'tear-off graphics' paintjob. I dropped a K&N in up front and a cherry bomb glasspack in back. Some friends and I stripped it (well finished what was started) down to the sheet metal and sprayed it Duplicolor cherry metal flake with a lund eclipse scoop and a white stripe over some school break. She came with 13" mismatched wheels so I upped to 14"s which i sprayed gloss black and put white letter cooper cobra gt P195/75 R14 meats on her :) Inside is a sony gt500 head unit and 4" pioneer mids up front, with 2 6"x9" pioneer 4 ways 'customed' into the back deck. In the trunk she started with a pair of pioneer 800 watt peak 12" subs pushed by a 760 peak watt pioneer amp. I had them in a sealed 1.5 cubic foot enclosure i made myself. Keeping the box i traded out for 2 1,000 watt peak DVC lanzar 12"s. Shortly thereafter i upped the amp to a 1,000 watt crunch amp. As of now the crunch grenaded the coils of the lanzars so im looking for somthing else. Thinking about kicker comp-VRs. The trunk lid is dynamat'd and the trunk is sprayed inside and under with rubber anti-vibration undercoating (under the carpeting) the spare tire and jack is gone and the empty space was shot up with great stuff (also under the carpet). Protecto-Wrap insulating foam tape is your friend. At least its mine. Well that's really more than I care to say anyways so, buy one. Come on, its a chevy.
* I decided to remove any chance of my car ever being legal in any of the 50 states, so I swapped out my catyltic converter for a glasspack and took the muffler off, running it open header and i don't plan on going back to one, although the city of rice lake has informed me otherwise...
* finally got my new subs, ended up getting 2 JL 12w3v2's and a power acoustik 2.0 farad cap for my crunch and am running them in my sealed box.
*yeah so i wanted to be cool so i got me one of those big chrome tips on there. yes sir, i found a 4" 45' cut chrome truck tip in my garage so i threw her on, actually sounds better believe it or not, echos more when it raps the pipes :)
* so 2 weren't enough, i took out my back seat and now i have 4 JL 12w3's in slot ported boxes(yeah i made them myself, yeah they're 3/4 mdf and no i didn't do a shitty job), tada, where the back seat used to be. To small to do anything in anyways.
*One word boys, nitrous. She's plumbed for a dryshot of the good shit w/ a 3k-7k rpm window, i still gotta wire up the electronics yet though, NOS super powershot dual solenoid system capable of spray/purge, or 2 stages of Hell on the insides :)
*finished the nitrous install, no injector or chip increases, just a .032 dryjet (est. 50 hp) so its not reaching full potential of the jet, but its a huge difference, puts a grin on my face every time i push the switch :)
*i gave up and stood my boxes back up, soooooo much louder, definitely the way to go, even with a pzi250.2 putting about 150 watts rms per sub she hit 133.8 dB @ 2k rpm to the front windshield, i'm going to be upping the power to 300-500 watts rms per sub here shortly and we'll see what it hits
*so i got a 3,000 watt Crunch class D and i fried the piss out of the frickin MOSFETs two days later. oops. fuck that. i'm got a 2,200 watt rms @ 1 ohm Power Acoustik gothic on order now.
*yeah i got my power acoustik amp and i had to add another battery in the trunk, so its got a 750 cca battery in the back for added voltage, helped sooooo much. i probably still need a line driver, but i had it metered as is and i was putting out 141 dB without a bass cd, not bad.
*did some more tuning and what-not got 144 dB out of it with a non-burned but still not tone cd, Keak da Sneak SuperHyphy (check it out ;))
