ENGINE REBUILD, WINTER OF 2005-06
Pulling the old big block out of the engine bay.
Wires labeled in preparation of pulling engine
Tear down begins.
Heads off, ready to take to the machine shop
Original stamped numbers still on engine block, confirming Numbers matching engine

Front clip removed so I could clean/detail front frame and suspension. Shocks replaced at this time.
While the engine was at the machine shop it was a great time to detail the engine compartment.
Heads rebuilt by a machine shop in Oceola. New valves, springs, guides, etc. Safe to burn unleaded gas!
Crank back in, bearings soon to follow.
Cleaned original pistons, awaiting rings.
Heads on, getting closer
Pistons in, new double timing chain installed
Reassembly of the engine
Finally, the engine is rebuilt and time to put it back in the car!

Finishing up the installation. What a relief when the engine fired up and no leaks, knocks, or strange noises. Nothin' but pure American Muscle rumbling at it's finest!
New Flowmasters arrived from Summit. No more rattling from inside the old blown out mufflers.
