396 Big Block 325hp. Rebuilt the engine last winter. It needed valve work. Still running original pistons and crank. HP probably around 350 now. Put in a bigger cam and it now has a great lumpy idle that sounds terrific, especially when the sound is coming out of the new 2 1\2" Flowmaster exhaust!
Engine detailed. There were alot of little things wrong with the engine and compartment. Wrong brackets, etc on the car when I bought it. I've tried to get everything back to as correct as possible.
Numbers matching car. Real 138 code SS.

all but one fender original
Options on this car include: AM pushbutton radio, power steering, power brakes, tinted windows, bucket seats, TH400 transmission, black vinyl top, rear speaker, center console. (Rally wheels were only available in '67 on disc brake Chevelles. This car has drum brakes, but the "dog dish" original caps look plain ugly!)
Most owners during that time period replaced the wheels with Crager 5 spoke, Chrome Reverse rims, Keystones, or something similiar. Only grannys kept the dog dish caps on their 4 door Malibu's.
Had to do lots of little detail things to the car, took off front clip and detailed frame, etc. Needed new interior, glove compartment box, radio. Just alot of finishing items. The body and paint were fine.
Gotta love those hood bumps. Even if they really don't do anything but look good!
It's no trailer queen. I bought it to drive. That's what they were made for. I do local cruise ins and once in a while a local car show. I hate sitting at a car show all day when I could be driving instead! Besides, I could really care about a trophy. That's not why I bought the car.

Redline bias ply tires for show and BFG white letter radials for real driving.
The guy I bought the car from bought it out of Lima, Ohio about six years ago. He was told that the car had been in storage about 10 years. This is the picture I found online of the car for sale in Lima. Anybody from the Lima area know anything about this car?
This was my original Chevelle that I had in high school.
Ermine white with Gold bucket interior. Nice, but not as nice as my current one! Going to the Prom, 1972!!!!
34 years later, 2006, My son going to his Prom!
Here's how my car will look someday. I'd even like to have a set of cragar ss wheels like these 'cause they look so great with the black!
Summer of 2006 at a local cruise-in with my car buds! If you're ever in Middlebury, Indiana on a Thursday evening, stop out at the Das Dutchman Essenhaus for the cruise-in. Great group of people, fantastic grounds and parking, and great food at the restaurant! Page 1: Overview
