dynacustom’s Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Regular Cab

    • Currently 4.0/5 Stars.

here is my project, it is a 1985 silverado short bed. i have lost alot of the pictures from when i first started the tare down over 4 years ago but here is what ive done so far.Every thing was removed from the frame, full body off. the stock 305 was trashed the frame was stripped if any rust and recoated with 3 coats of gloss black rustolium. I have installed a belltech 4-6 drop kit and c-notched the rear frame rails all new brake components were then installed(callipers rotors flex lines ect.) the cab and bed was reinstalled and that is where i am at now.
This is a southern car with 0 rust so the body work is going to be easy. I am going to start with the firewall I have removed all of the the things i will not be using in the future( aftermarket cruise, trans servo, shift linkage ect.)and smothed out all of there mounting holes. I am going to paint the truck 2 tone and want the underhood to match the exterior. with the cab stripped and doors of i painted inside the doors also. here is what the color combo will look like.

With the trimwork done i will next be installing the driveline. the motor is a 350 4 with bolt mains bored .030 over all new bearings freezeplugs ect. I am running a set of keith black flat tops with chromoly rings and a comp cam with a 282 duration, hyd. flat tappet lifters. the cast iron heads have also been reworked, new everything. topping off the longblock is an edelbrock rpm airgap intake and a holley 670 street avenger carb. turning the accecories is a gm performance serpintine belt system with new alt. pwr. steering pump and ac compressor.the rebuilt trans with a b&m trans pack was mated together with a b&m 2500 stall converter. all hoses and vacume lines will be replaced with new ones most of wich wil be braided. i just found out the ac lines will have to be custom made so that will have to be done at a later time. I am now custom making all of the engine compartment wiring i dont want to clutter up my nicely painted firewall with all that mess.
