What a fun project this was

The little beast has a 10 coat hand polished Viper Yellow paint job that is worth the price of admission! This is not your average garage find any more. It was when I found it though. It is quick and stable. It runs fine at freeway speeds. You will stay dry and warm in the cabin. You and your significant other ride snugly along honking and waving, no kidding. Below is a LONG list of what I have done to this Midget in the 6 years I have owned it. Pictures do not do the car justice. It is a real attention hog.

I am interested in an older European sedan (Mercedes, Jaguar, Bentley, Volvo, etc...) or other collectable vehicle with at least 4 seats if you have anything interesting to trade. Must be driveable and presentable if not perfect.

The MG has at least $8K (parts only plus hundreds of hours) in it and is nearly perfect, I quit counting after a while. Everything is new or rebuilt. I have a lot of extra stuff for it:

- I put collector car plates on it so insurance is cheap and no annual car tabs are required

- A hard top that is in need of new rubber

- A couple different boot covers

- All 5 wire wheels with new tires, tubes and liners

- The engine is an all new (original block and head) balanced 1500 bored slightly over. It has a lightened flywheel, 275 cam, double valve springs and chain, all new engine bolts, Lucas mechanical adv. distributor and weber DGV. I have a stock cam to put in if somebody wants it to idle smoother, although with less power. It is not really tuned out correctly yet, but runs great. The engine was assembled by myself, machined at Action Auto in Lynnwood and I had guidance from Ted Schumacher in Ohio (www.tsiimportedautomotive.com) on the parts selection. I sourced most of the engine components from Ted who has a great reputation with these engines.

- The gearbox is rebuilt unit

- The wheels had many spokes replaced and were sandblasted, trued and painted before fitting the new tires. The splines are a little worn and click sometimes though

- The front end is all new. New bushings, king pins and uprated shocks from Apple Hydraulics in NY.

- The body was stripped smoothed and resprayed to yellow from original white. There is no white left as the entire car was painted in one shot while apart including inside the trunk, frame and under the hood. The car looks new. There was only a little rust in the cowling that was cut out and replaced, the rest is great. The front lower valance is a little banged up behind the bumper if you get on your hand and knees to look for it.

- All of the body rubber is new

- A new windshield was fitted

- The window regulators both work fine, windows roll up and down smoothly and the wind wings open as well as seal properly.

- The inner door window guides are new

- All of the locks were re-keyed to a single lock key

- New lenses were installed across the back of the car and new tri-pod headlights are installed

- Switches all are new where I could find them. Those that are original have been repaired to functional

- Nice stereo with a remote for the car shows

- New battery installed a few weeks ago

- Needs an oil change and a rear pumpkin area leak developed over the winter both will be fixed soon

This is a 30 year old car. I it not sophisticated at all and easy to tinker with and is very satisfying to play with, but too small for our family to enjoy on the overnight rallies. I am a member of the MG car club and we all cannot go out on rallies without a chase car which takes away some fun. We want a Jag or something interesting to play with that seats 4.
