THIS IS MY DAD AND ME



People have asked me what's the story behind the Devil Within.
My son Dalton was born with Cerebral Palsy and can not do many things others can do as his whole left side was affected by this.Dalton, Died on us 3 different times during and after birth
with one of these times being in a helicoper going to Kingston Hospital because of lack of space for him.Needless to say this took its toll on all of us, with his real Mom up and leaving.
She has seen him about 8 times and Dalton is now 9 Years old.
Dalton is a go getter and fighter and though he can't do the things that others can do he still wants to give it a shot, and of course i let him, but now with the understanding of things more with his age he has started to feel frustrated with the way he is, and his lack of ability to do things.
Dalton can not extend his left arm out past a 3 inches from his chest, so swimming is not good and has to wade while others take off to go swimming.Daltons left leg and right foot
are turned inwards and though he receves Botox to help with this he can not run very far with out falling down, so Baseball
football ect... are out of the question also, he loves hockey.
I have been through every thing i can think of for him to do.
Dalton loves video games and yes he does play, but he suxs but keeps on going anyways. lol
Even horse back riding is out as he has no balance so would not be able to ride by himself, and bike rideing is out same reasson.
So what to do ?
Well hell he is a little boy right and all boys love cars ( yes girls to ) lol.
so we went out looking.We looked at many cars some i would have like more then this one lol but its his car so has to be his birth year.
We seen this car and looked it over,by no means was this a great car, high millage paint and clear coat peeling,
bald tires and the s/c knocked like it was a drummer in its own band. How much ? 5 Grand yeah really.
And needless to say 5 grand later its here. lol
First thing was a new s/c out of a Regal with 17 k on it.
$1000.00 dollars plus taxes of course.So we figured we need to joine a club to get some better ideas on what we were doing and up against. we searched and searched till we come across the OQCGP club. ( This is one hell of a club very acktive and with all the knowledge anyone could ask for fro Grand Pixs. )
So after joining this club found out that the S/C could have been fixed for 50 bucks ... i was upset and went back with S/c in hand... We ended up paying $400.00 for the S/C.
Next was to get new tires on her, and we bought BFGoodridge
tires and we were off to the races...lol
Only to find out the Alt wasn't working and left us sitting
many miles from home.
New alt in and after reading lots decides it was time to do away with the U-Bend and drop in a cone K&N filter. And then
Flowmaster 40's..... then Dalton says to me one day hey Dad this car is alot like me huh. Hows that Dalton. ?
Well i remember when i was 2 years old those Dr.s said i would never walk and talk... but you took the time to fix me so that i can do what i'm doing now. ( don't think this did not bring out the tears cause it did. )
And i know it hurts you to see me someetimes like this with my devil with in not letting me do what others can do.
(Some times i wonder what we can learn by listening to the little ones.)
Well we got this car it was not the greatest and in just a few months you have made it a car to make ppl stare at and it still needs alot so this car is like me.
So Off we went for our first club meet, me Dalton and a friend of mine, and once Dalton seen all the cars his eyes were so big
and so full of so many q's for every one that he was a insteant hit... Dalton found a place he belongs and the Guys at OQCGP Club make him feel like he is at home.They are awsome.
so to make a long story short this is were the name The Devil Within comes from.... Daltons own demons inside.
