Hey my names Todd, im 17 and recievied this car for passing my g2 test. i plan on making this car a 442. im gonna take it back to the original pewter silver paint, with the w-30 stripes, and im debating on going to a black interior or leave it the original green.

I dont know how much horse power this has, but it has a 68 350 short block, with the 72 heads(i later found out that they are 3A heads which are 1978). 4bbl. if any one could give me an idea what kinda power i would be making that would be great. i know it has the numbers matching trans and rear end with 2.73 open.

I also found a ram air hood for it, 442 grills, and all the emblems for the 442 which i am going to purchace sometime soon. I also found a 455 threw the grapevine which the guy said he would hold onto it for me.

The first picture is when i first got the car, i photoshoped it because the headlight bezels were not painted, and the photoshop makes it look like it does now.

The only problems with the car is that it has an exhaust leak, the trunk pan needs replaced, and a few dings and scratches on the body, very little rust, just above the A pillar driver side. If any one has any parts that would work on my car to make it a 442, if they could let me know that would be great. or if you see a part or something on my car that will probably be upgraded/replaced let me know cause i dont have alot of room in my garage for this stuff.

I will try to get more pics up later when i get the camera developed. and update as i get stuff done.

I took some pictures with my cell phone, they arent great.

is that hood still up for sale? how much do you want for it? is it fiberglass? and is that extra grille you got also for a 70'?

you asked about what kind of power your car made? if you could tell me some performance things about your engine, id be glad to help with build up ideas and a rough dino-graph. ill tell you now that those #3A heads have to go if your going performance 350. the olds 350 rocket small block is arguably the best small block 5.7lt made, very under estimated. ive done a few more mods to my mild mannered 350 running on regular unleaded, and cant keep the tires from squaking with anything over 1/4 throttle with 3.23 gears, imagine if you had a 455 in there? the added weight, the gallons per mile fuel economy, and even more tire spin? i dont think its necessary. just look at the 1970 rallye 350 1/4mile times compared to the 455's, about 1/2 seccond difference. as long as your not doing alot of highway driving, or have an overdrive transmition, lower the differential gears, and that will make up for the less torque launches. well, hope it helped. i have tons more info if you want. by the way, thats a sweet ride! good choice.

I'll be putting on the bfgoodrich white letter tires when the car comes out in the spring. They do look very sexy. lol. The only reason I'm not changing the color of my car to the green yours is is because I can't afford a color change. haha. Oh well. Thanks for the input, you're one of the only ones who think the stripes are a good idea.
