How to replace IS300 rear window

First off, vacuum all the broken glass from seats and carpets.

Next, pop off small cover on door release handle and remove bolt. Remove plastic trim panel around door release handle back to front.

Then remove small bolt in door handle. Pop up front to back.

Now reach under and push in tab to pop up window switch plate.

Now you can remove the door panel. Use a thin screwdriver between panel and door frame and pop off the small tabs from the bottom up, using care not to break the tabs.

Depending on where the glass carrier is located, move it to the top and remove. MAKE sure to note its orientation (how it is connected to window regulator arm front to back) This pic shows Driver's Side Rear Door Window glass carrier.

While everything is out, vacuum the inside of the door. I got out 99% of the broken glass at the bottom of the door.

I carefully cleaned up the glass from the rubber strip in the glass carrier because I was going to reuse it on the new glass. Got my glass from the a local lexus dealer for about $130.

Clean the NEW glass really well and center the rubber strip on the bottom. Mobile glass repair people use an expanding foam material to connect glass to glass carrier. Since I don't know what it is, I chose to reuse the rubber strip.

Now you need another set of hands and thick gloves to slide glass carrier onto the rubber strip w/the new glass. I used a lot of dish washing liquid on the rubber strip to make it easier to slide on the glass carrier. This is the toughest part of the job. You will need lots of patience, and lots of care not to break the new glass. Make sure to also center the carrier to the glass.

Now go to the door. At the top of the window frame, move the rubber strip to get access to small bolt. This black metal divider divides the small quarter window from large up/down window glass. Remove bolt.

Now follow that black metal divider down and remove another bolt toward the center. I don't have a pic for this bolt but you'll see it.

Now continue to the bottom of the metal divider. It is connected to the rear of the door. Remove that bolt. Once its out, pull black metal divider. You have to remove the felt strip from the black metal divider that the glass slides up and down on.

Now carefully put new glass in the door all the way to the bottom. Next, slide down the black metal glass divider, making sure to feed the glass in the groove (without felt strip on). Once its in loose, hold it in place with the bolts on top and rear loose.

Feed in the felt weather strip to the metal divider. You may have to move glass up and down to get this strip all the way back in.

Install door panel, switch plate, door release plastic trim, rubber door handle and Voila, Rear window fixed.
