This guide is for after you've disconnected the engine wiring harness from the ECU and dash harness and passed it through the firewall.

1. Put the car up on jackstands

2. Drain transmission

3. Drain radiator from the plug that should be here...

...or drain from the lower radiator hose

4. Take out the radiator by loosening the two radiator brackets at the top (no pic)

5. The the fan off via the 4 10MM nuts

6. Option 1 - Take the exhaust manifold off with the exhaust still attached. Option 2 - Leave the manifold on and remove the exhaust itself.

7. Drain the power steering by taking off the high pressure hose

8. Take the intake plenum off by unbolting 4 bolts and 2 nuts and take off all necessary vacuum hoses.

9. Take off the gas cap to release the pressure from the system.

10. Take off the fuel return line under the intake manifold by taking off the clip and removing like any other vacuum hose. Cap it off.

11. Unbolt the fuel feed line from the block under the intake manifold via the 17mm bolt on top. This bolt could be incredibly tight. Do the same for the fuel return line. Cap it off or tie it up because it will leak if it falls.

Watch out. Step 11 is a knuckle-buster

12. Go under the car on the driver's side and unbolt the slave cylinder via the 2 bolts that hold it to the transmission

13. Then move to the passenger side and unscrew the speedometer cable. You can do this by hand. Then jack up the rear of the car if you haven't already.

14. Put something behind the wheels to make sure it doesnt move Unbolt the driveshaft from the differential via the 4 14MM nuts and bolts using a 14MM socket and a 14MM open ended wrench.

15. Unbolt the middle of the driveshaft via the 2 bolts

16. Unbolt the transmission crossmember via the 4 bolts in the middle and the 2 on either side. Make sure you have a jack under the transmission at this point. It won't come down yet but it'll take the stress off the nuts on the motor mounts.

17. Take the grounds off the transmission.

18. Take off the bar that goes across the middle just behind the oil pan.

19. Unclip the reverse wires (the 2 white ones) and if you have ABS, unclip the wires from the connecter by the starter. (middle clip)

20. Jack the front of the car back up if you need to, and look on either side of the lower control arms right under the motor mounts and there's a nut on either side. (no pic)

21. Take off one side of the hose leading from the engine to the firewall on the driver's side, then take off the hose on the passenger side.

22. Hook the engine lift up to the engine using the lift points. There is a hook next to the alternator and a hook at the back of the head on the passenger side. Start lifting and look for grounds still connected taking them off as you see them. Good luck!
