i did not want to have to put up with that giant box in my trunk taking up all of my space so i figured that best way to go would be to make my own fiberglass boxes fit to the trunk. i did this over the winter as well it took waay longer then it should have took because well thew temps in alberta during the winter arnt exactly fiberglassing temps i never did it below -5*C but finding a day that nice was still hard to do.
here are some of along the way first ones being just prepping for the glass by covering my trunk in masking tape lol that was fun i think we used 5 rolles total
the next pic is of the first layer of fiberglass on top of the masking tape it looks like complete shit well obviously because we were complete noobs in the world of glassing

we did 2 layers in the trunk to get the form made and after that i used packing peanuts and a box i had cut to approx. 1 cubic foot of volume to measure how much of the mould we needed. i then proceeded to cut them down to the approx. size i left them a bit big for obvious reasons, and added 5 more layers to these making them 7 layers thick...unfortunatly i have no pics of this because well i just simply forgot to take them :p
i had previously made some speaker rings out of mdf at my highschool shop using our sweet ass cnc router they were a perect fit for my subs

i mounted these rings in the boxes with wooden dowels and hot glue...lots of glue
well i had half of the the boxes done now came time to stretch the fleece over the boxes to give them their shape
after the fleece was on it was time for more reisn and fiberglass i put 7 layers on top of the fleece so the boxes were very strong by this point. the boxes were comming so close to being done i was very excited and could not wait
then came the long tedious part of bondoing and sanding i think a total of 4 times per box to achieve a surface smooth enough to paint with out showing defects while the bondo was drying between sanding i started working on a recessed amp rack out of some plywood i had here is a pictuer of both the amp rack and boxes ready to be painted
i took the boxes and rack down to a shop where my friend works (propane service) it want a painting shop by any means but it was a place we could use to paint them. we just used some black paint and the air gun he bought and was dying to try out and got decent results again for a first timer

it is currently installed and working now i dont have any pics but will up date as soon as i get them...pics will include finished set up, led lighted block, lighted trunk (as soon as leds arrive), possibly other install pics if i find them
