12-20-2008:This baby has been through a lot.  Replaced the heads with Stage Three Dynamic Racing heads.  replaced the cams with Dynamic Racing "Street" cams.  The reason I had to pull the motor in the first place: I blew a head gasket when I blew a coolant line on the last verification run just after the run on the dyno graph above.

first trip back to the dyno for tune and the car actually lost @40hp!!!!!!

way off for anyone who voted in the poll.

I verified the cas sensor and timing, bleed all the lifters and checked to see if they were operating normally.  checked all the lifter shims, changed the coils back to stock, New Magnecor 8.5 plug wires, fixed a big boost leak....

took it back to the dyno again after that and I actually did better on spool up, but was still about the same on power and torque.sooooooo...

took it home and did a couple of things:compression test, leak -down test, degreed the cams.

The cams turned out to be off only barely in the front bank, but enough to make a small difference in the rear bank.  Set the cams to "0"degrees.  Did the leak-down test:Most cylinders were around 8-10%leak-down-not super-great but ok.#6 had 100%leak down!!!!!!I could visually see the intake valve stay open at TDC.  I just said screw it and ordered a new full set of lifters.  8% on every cylinder  now and anywhere from 160 to 178 on the compression test.

By deleting the extra overlap on the cams I might loose some power but I wont compromise something else(like low end torque)to gain power.  Most go -3degrees on the exhaust and +1on the intake.  the rear bank on my setup was off by 2degrees on the exhaust and intake both

For five years it looked like this

only from a spun rod bearing! Tore it apart and started pretty much from scratch. Motor is fully built:Ross forged pistons-93mm, pauter rods, forged crank. Heads are primarily stock:ported and polished, a lot of bowl work, 3rd gen lifters and rockers, stock cams, adj. cam gears,3SX custom race radiator,Tein HA suspension, stock 17" rims(white), Nitto 555r Drag radials. The tranny has had its share also:RPS carbon carbon clutch,MW 300m output shaft, transfer case cage, ktp front lsd,Carbon Fiber Driveshaft, maybe 300 miles on rebuild before bearing spun.

One of the reasons it was down so long was because I sold my old 15g turbos and 550cc injectors to a guy at supercar engineering(supercar-engineering.com)and had to save up money for the big kit with all the fixins:DR-800 T3/T4 turbo and manifold kit, Tial wastegates, ATR downpipe, pre-cat eliminators, 3" custom exhaust.

Gotta keep that charge air cool: DR Front Mount InterCooler kit,all light weight aluminum, huge 4" core. Two K&N 2.5" filters(one for each turbo). Pushing all that air....I might need some more fuel:stock nissan 300zx fuel pump, hotwired, kenne belle boost-a-pump, fuel pump resister bypass mod, -6 steel braided lines, paxton fuel pressure regulator, GT-PRO fuel rails, Denso 720cc injectors.

With all that fuel Im gonna need some spark:CTC Performance coil pack, HKS Twin DLI ignition amplifier.

Now it gets tricky:HKS vein pressure converter, Apex-i s-AFC,piggybacked on a G-force Tech reprogrammed ecu. I just put the car back together after five years, I am not going to drive it with this set-up. I decided after much headache to go with the AEM ems, this system is the whip. the car idles at 900rpms and is smooth as ice, great response and the options are endless. the heads are coming off to fix the gaskets and while they are off the cams are getting tossed for new regrinds and the heads ar getting the stage three treatment at Dynamic Racing ,the interior is done but i havent had time to upload pics the six gauges that keep track of vitals:60mm greddy warning oil pressure,60mm greddy warning water temperature,60mm greddy warning EGT, the three greddys are in the dassh,2-1/16" auto meter fuel pressure gauge,2-1/16"vacuum/boost gauge,AEM wideband o2 sensor air/fuel ratio gauge, cianci a-pillar triple gauge pod,and matching passenger side.
