I bought this car a little over a year ago. I was working in South Carolina with my family in Illinois only being home about 1 week per month. I needed something that was done and I could enjoy when I was home.
I have now changed jobs and am home and can work on a project, ('72 Monte Carlo).
This Buick is a Super Riviera, (all 2-door hard tops were designated Rivieras). It is customized with a '71 Riviera front clip, '71 455 CID Buick, Turbo 400, 12-bolt rear. Power steering, power brakes, Front discs, rear drums, power seats, antenna, cruise, air, heat, XM.
The car is lowered, frenched, decked and filled with hand painted pinstripping inside and out and under the hood.
It is for sale if anyone is interested.
It is August 17, 2008 and I am happy to say the Buick is finally sold. I don't know about other parts of the country but around here, (Southern Illinois), the custom car market sucks.
Now I can concentrate on the Monte Carlo's restoration and not feel too bad about spending some serious money.
I hope the new owner, (In Florida), is happy with his purchase.
