After a recent make over inside and out this Mopar means business. Upgrades include the new motor and transmission bringing with them all the newly achieved power. The 528 c.i. big block and 727 automatic transmission with turbo action valve body replaced last years 340 small block backed up with a 4 speed manual transmission. Oh yeah - there was a few seconds gained on the track here!
Of course we couldn't do with out a little cosmetic touch too, so we stripped it down to nothing and started over. With a new coat of paint and John's help with the aluminum panels it looks great.
First time out at the track after the upgrades, driver and owner, Brent Noakes runs a 9.69 at 138 mph in Sacramento. "With a little tuning I'm hoping for a 9.50," says Noakes.
Look for Brent in his 1969 Dart and his dad, Jerry Noakes in his 1965 Chevy Pick-Up running in the 9 to 10 second range at Northern California and Southern Oregon drag strips.
