Still in progress but finally ready for paint. I have the original 283 which I rebuilt and going to hook a 700r4 tranny to.
Truck only has 38450 miles on her! She was ripped off and missing for over 8 years when I found her. After some intence talking with the Police and the original owners, I got the title and proceded with the restoration.
Started in May of 06 and now its Dec. and I am tired of sanding. She is at 800 grit and waiting for the paint booth.
Its been one year and she is all painted up. Single stage on the inside of the cab, the inside of the bed and the fire wall. Base coat clear coat on the rest. I added glass to the black base in order to gain depth, now on a sunny day I can put a tape measure on the side and read 38 inch!!! The flames are a ghost style witch change color from blue (head on) to purple (at a 45 degree angle) to black (at more than 45). Very cool but very expensive. The 283 looked like a big pumking after I put it back in.... didnt last long before the front clip came back off and I repainted her and the tranny. I used the same as the flame paint so she changes colors as you move around it.
Hope to be all done by July, just in tiime for the Good guys show in Puallup Washington. More updates to follow.
