So I made it to El Centro, Ca when I had to do something about the transfer case leaking.A bottle of engine oil stop leak fixed it right up. The front main seal was leaking a little, but not enough to worry.I stopped in Phoenix for gas and found the entire undercarriage coated in oil. It was coming from the front of the engine, so I bought a case of oil and went on my way.I stopped in Flagstaff for the night. In the morning I found the fuel pump had worked loose and "ate" the gasket. Rather than just replace the gasket, I bought a new pump. This 'wagon has a remote oil filter that returns the oil to the engine via a hollow fuel pump bolt. I couldn't get ANY kind of wrench in there to tighten it up.Finally in Holbrook, az, I borrowed a grinder to "massage" my 7/16 wrench to get it tight. In Gallup, nm, my right front wheel's brake started grabbing badly forcing me to spray lots of degreaser in the drum at stops.Outside of Tucumcari, nm, I noticed the lights were flickering so I stopped for the night. next morning, I found the generator brushes were worn out. It would charge 12.6 no load and 11.4 with the lights on.Between Follet, tx, and Woodward, Ok, on Trunk Line rd. I hit a deer at about 55mph. Disgusted, I just hit the gas and went on.Stopping in Woodward, the deer had done NO damage.finally made it home 2-4-09, and went to work the next day. Consider this truck has 4.88 gears and 2 burnt valves. I got 13mpg (avg) and used (leaked) 1.5 cases of oil over a 1,400mi distance. Hell of a ride, boys! The steering wheel was pulling really hard and the rt front wheel would lock so I started on the brakes then.
