It was a fun car. Over the past 7 years I owned this car, I have learned a lot about it. I previously had a NA version 1989 (Sprint). These cars have their problems (mostly thin sheet metal, ease of body rust), but the fun factor along with the easy maintenance were always a plus. The TURBO 3 engine was remarkably strong. It survived many torture sessions. It drove fine the entire East Coast from Canada to Key West. Had a blast doing so. It was amusing to see a lot of the American public stare at the car with question marks on their face and to also get attention from the import scene drivers. All encounters were always filled with questions about its origin and design. The car would have been great to modify more, but had serious rust issues. The Suzuki Swift GT parts and aftermarket are still alive for that particular car, but there was never a "Turbo 3 Webstore". ***TURBINE TECH*** seems to have some products for this actual engine. Most notably, a turbo exhaust manifold.*** Most Swift GT parts would fit on the car, however. It made it difficult to upgrade.
This is my 1991 Turbo Firefly. I currently have a Turbo XS boost controller on it which has made a tremendous difference in power. 70HP is the stock horsepower rating for this car(107 ft/lbs torque). I do not know of my horsepower after the installation of my boost controller. The posted 0 to 60mph and quarter mile times are also stock numbers. However, I cannot out accelerate my Turbo Firefly using my stock 1998 Civic EX. The turbo car has simply more torque. (torque/weight ratio).
A picture taken in 1997.

As you can see, the car was near mint condition at that time. The other red car was totalled back in 1997. Never really knew the guy, but he made it fine.
The head gasket was replaced at 183000KM. While I was at it, I replaced the actual head of the engine with a 1994 Metro head. It needed to be bored out to accomodate the three fuel injectors since the regular 3 cylinder Metro is carburated. The head was cleaned and resurfaced. I also took the camshaft out of the '94, which was in better condition. While the engine was open, the turbo was changed with a brand new one from IHI. It is only a tiny RHB32, stock.
This picture is from the original 1989 brochure, too bad I actually do not own the brochure.

The car now has Wiretec ignition wires (no longer manufactured), high flow catalytic converter, Bosch Platinum plugs, Turbo XS Boost controller, Aerospeed pedals (don't buy any from them, they look ok but get RAZO instead)
The car now has 200000KM, ouch, still pushes hard.
