So this is how my 53 dodge looked 4 years ago. The truck was originally owned by my fathers great uncle. The truck was used for his masonry business but was kept in excellent condition and always garage kept. When he passed away my father bought the truck for $500.00 in 1973. At that point the truck was restored to proper working order. My father drove the truck for two years. In 1975 the motor was overhauled, and painted. The body was painted in a red enamel and most of the truck was thoroughly cleaned. Due to time and money the truck was then parked in the top floor of our barn. And that’s where it stayed for 26 years.
When I was in high school my grandfather, cousin and I decided to get it running again. The first summer was used to convert the truck to a 12v system and get it running, driving, and stopping again. At the end of the summer we had the truck driving around in the field behind our house.
The summer after that I began to do what you see in the picture on the following pages….
