The Raider had its big day out 2 weeks ago. It hadn't moved from the spot infront of my house for 2 years just waiting for a new transmission. Well the Raider gave up its 2.6 to fund my 3rd truck, here are the pictures of the engine removal:
After a full day of work the Silver Raider returned home back home, its Red Raider brother pulled it off the trailer back to its resting spot. It still could be a future project truck, or may stay as a parts vehicle. We will see, only time will tell. It is still my first truck, and will not be going to the crusher any time soon. Older shots of it shortly after being parked when I bought its Red brother:
History
I bought my first re-badged Mitsubishi Montero back in 2003, for only $400. It wasn't in bad shape with 235k on it. I wheeled it, ran overa fire hydrant with it, and a deer impaled itself on it. But it kept on going, till the transmission went out. Nearly $5k later the newly rebuilt unit put in lost 1st gear, and the shop wouldn't cover it. So I drove it from January of 2007 to March of 2007 without 1st gear till I could buy its Red Raider brother. From there it sat for 2 years till late 2009 in October when it sacrificed its 2.6 (for $200) to help fund the purchase of its 2nd brother, a brown 1988 Mitsubishi Montero. It sits now as a parts truck or maybe future project truck. But it will not be going anywhere any time soon.
