this is my 1980 malibu. this pic is from when i first bought it. back then it had a weak 402 turbo 350 that was an awesome tranny and a 4:56 rear gear welded carrier.

this is the motor out of the elky. since spinning a bearing in the elky this motor got some upgrades. 350 .040 over 110 dome pistons .525/.559 lift 252/258 duration @ 50 cam. eagle rotating assembly. pro topline aluminum heads 2.02/1.60 valves heartshape 64CC 200cc intake runners. 1.6 roller rockers. stud girddle. airgap dual plenum intake, 780 general competition double pumper demon. edlebrock 4bbl 2inch riser. HEI distributor MSD 6A-L box with 6,000-8,000 rev limiter adjustable toggle switch. proform electric water pump, mallory adjustable electric fuel pump, 2002 camaro electric fans, TH350 3400 stall SFI flew plate, shift kit, 68 chevelle 12bolt, 4:10 Eaton posi, 31 spline axles, 7/16 x 3" wheel studs.lakewood lower lift bars, jegster upper adjustable control arms, lakewood 50/50 rear 90/10 front. just to name the basics. has not been to the track yet due to drive shaft problems. broke 2 drive shafts since installing my small block. this is why i installed the 12 bolt was due to damage done to the 4:56 rear end. first drive shaft ripped in half at 6800 rpms in 3rd gear. cracked the bell housing on the tranny. the second time. bent the drive shaft in half, broke the bellhousing off the tranny, broke the case 2 inch's infront of the tail shaft. both times it relocated the driveshaft tunnel on my floorpan.

ok how are you
sounds like an awesome engine...a real torque monster if it keeps shredding driveshafts like that...have a question, tell me why you went to non power brakes & how good does it stop now...i have an 81 malibu & was wondering about the power to non power brake change...where can i get good info on this setup?
thanks
MikeC!
