Welcome to my photo journal of my V8 swap into a 4 cylinder/automatic mustang coupe, using a donor car.

Let me know what you think of it in the guestbook please!

Starting with a wrecked `87 coupe with a 5.0L and 5 speed, it was stolen in November of 2003 and found wrecked 4 miles from where it was stolen.

The car ran a 13.1@104mph 1/4 mile with a 1.71 60 foot time, in 95 degree weather. With cold weather and the new transmission, the car should easily be capable of a 12 second pass, with the engine being totally stock from the airfilter to the oil pan. Good driving, drag slicks, and full exhaust are really the only mods besides taking the accesories off the belt.

The damage from the accident was pretty extensive, the K member was a total loss, and in doing so the sub-frame rails in the engine bay were pushed back into the firewall on the passenger side approx. 2"s.
Fender was destroyed, bumper cover was toast, door wont open/shut properly, and the idiots that stole it left their headprints in the windshield. The roof is pretty wavy too.

Moving on...took bumper cover and fender off, you can see how far back the suspension was pushed by the angle of the strut.

Always wear your helmet when straightening a car frame with chains!

The straightening was working, got the sub-frame that was pushed into the firewall approx. 2"s back out approx. 1" and then the cement pole we were using as the anchor point in the front (with my pickup truck attached with a tow strap to the rear axle as the rear point) came out of the ground.BLiND's 1989 Ford Mustang

Since the straightening was taking longer than expected I bought a 4 cylinder mustang for $500 that wouldn't pass smog to act as the recipient of a 12 second stang's guts.

I will use the page to show the progress whenever I remember to take pictures.
