Let's start with the interior.
I purchased the dash, dash electronics, switchpods and steering wheel back in July 2003 after I got it home from Rob's place in Mt. Pleasant. The package didn't arrive until August 2003. It was a long 5 weeks of waiting, but it was worth it. While my stuff was being created from Mark's Custom Kits, I placed an order on Don Colie's steering wheel. I went with Don's wheel because it's all made out of fiberglass which is pretty lightweight, and it had the horn button. I believe Don's wheel was the only one that had a horn button at that time. Mark's wheel was just too heavy. Fast forward to August 2003, all of my KR stuff arrived and I took the car over to my friend's shop at Advanced Auto Sound in Flint, MI. My buddy, Matt Webster, is the one who wired all the stuff up and it took him about 1.5 days. When I got my car back from him, it was an amazing feeling to be able to drive a dream car that I've been wanting for so long into a reality.

In April 2004, it's time to bring back the correct color interior. The car had a tan interior when I first bought it, but it was all worn out due to aging over the years. I was able to find a local shop only just 10 minutes from my house to do all of the work. Atkin's Auto from Flint, MI redid the front seats, rear seat, sun visors, speaker panels, and the top section of the door panels. They re-did the headliner about 5 days after I bought the car, and I told them that I would be back another time and have them do the rest.
Here are the before pics with that worn out tan color.
Look carefully at the door panels. The top section looks more like gray than tan.
Here are the after pics. Can you see the difference?
I ordered the lower and overhead consoles from Don Colie. The buttons all light up and make telephone dial tone sounds when you press each button. The overhead console was a little tricky to install, but my friend Matt pulled it off. He was able to mount a piece of 2 x 4 and just drilled right into the metal. I've had it on for about 2 years and it never sagged. There's also a mini-camera installed in front of the overhead console and it's wired to the 6" LCD monitor. It's able to pick up what's in front of you.
