Heres a night shot of my 83 ranger that i got for free, it had a 2.3 carbed 4 banger in it that wasnt running and i didnt want to put money into it so we went witha 5.0 ho swap ...

Heres a pic of the motor, this is what it looked like when we got it.

5.0 302 HO
And this is what it looked like when we first started work on it

IT was literally a steal. it came with :
block boiled, cylinders honed, new freeze plugs, main bearings, rod bearings, cam bearings, pistons, rings, E7 heads ported/polished, 3 angle valve job, stainless valves, new valve springs/guides/seals, FMS F-303 roller cam, FMS roller lifters, FMS 1.6 roller rockers, edelbrock double roller riming chain and gears, high volume oil pump, holley 600 cfm 4 barrel, holley electric fuel pump, BBK shorty ceramic headers
Heres some pics of us removing the good old 2.3 motor the ranger came with
We opted not to use a cherry picker lol good old foot power pushing it threw the bottom of the engine bay,
this is the right way to drain the tranny

Well we got the motor completely put together we upgraded or what we thought upgraded to a f cam for the 302 a gain of a nice 75 HP well we did some research on the cam that was in there it was strictly a racing cam and held power up to 8200 HP and would of had to idle at 1600
One of mikes crazy setups lol motor and tranny hooked up sitting on a cart with the fuel pump hooked up and into a 5 gallon gas tank a battery with jumper cables hooked up to jumper cables. MSD ignition jimmy rigged and his stock h pipe connect so it wouldn't be to ridiculous.

oh boy it worked the motor sounds awesome i cant wait for it to be in my truck
we had to do a little cuttin as u can see to fit the radiator in

well the performance bbk headers that came wtih the motor werent goign to fit neither were the stock 302 headers so we had to go with old balls stock manifolds froma 351 and we had to do some cuttin for those still..

mike "im master frame cutter, you need it cut ill do it "
Heres a pic of the motor officialy in and everything together igntion and such..

I picked upa chrome edelbrock performer rpm intake manifold and a 13" chrome ford air cleaner.

we ended up using a aod tranny with a transgo shiftkit in it took a little mangling of the underbody to get it to fit but it fits now, and used a sold tranny mount and a custom tranny crossmember from suicide doors, also got a b+m 2000 stall converter

to the left is a burn out i did at my buddys house who helped me do the 302 swap, and to the right is a burn out i did (the longer one) at a empty parking lot. mmm v8 power is great
