This was my first car. It was purchased three months after I turned sixteen, in June of 2001. At the time, I thought this was a really sweet car. It was sold with just over 100K miles. The paint was immaculate, very clean white. It had burgandy leather interior that was also in excellent shape. These Mi16's came fully apointed from the factory, with heated power seats, moonroof, even a remote keyless entry.
This is probably the best handling front wheel drive I car I have ever driven. It has a curb weight of around 2700lbs. and with the sixteen valve, 150HP engine, it moved nicely. Great steering feel. I miss that car a lot. I had to sell it at the time due to insufficient funds to keep it running. While these 405's are an excellent drive, they are quite expensive to keep running. Parts and labor are top dollar for this French beauty. Even in perfect tune, I never acheived more than around 23mpg on average using premium, 92 octane. In one year, we had repair bills of over $4,000. These are an ageing classic, I love it, but found it too expensive for my taste. "One of the best drives you'll ever experience."
