This is a 1989 Isuzu Imark RS. I got it for $300 with a bad engine.
I first put in my rebuilt 1991 Isuzu Impulse Engine in and added a nice t3 turbo to it. I put in the impulse ECU also and rewired everything to work. With this setup I was able to run 12.8@108 in the 1/4 although it was losing a lot of power at the top of 3rd and 4th due to very high intake temps. I still hadn't installed an intercooler yet.
right now I've got a 1992 geo storm block with JE pistons (10:1 compression) and a turbonetics t3/t4 turbo running 25 psi of boost. I also have done this:
ported/polished head
Imark RS cams with hydrolic lifters
extrude honed intake manifold
cc'd chambers
680 cc injectors
255 lph fuel pump <== new
haltech ECU
fidanza aluminum flywheel
UR underdrive pulley
clutch specialties 2800lb pp <== new
6 puck clutch disk <== new
spearco 3x8x24 intercooler <== new
24.5x8x13 slicks
custom adapted coilovers <== new
welded differential <== new
ARP head studs <== new
made 408 hp on the dyno
Last time out to the track, I had just put on the new turbo and had the boost set at 22 psi. On the dyno it made 325 hp. It ran 11.5@125 mph.
after i increased the boost my times actually dropped a bit due to traction problems, so i've made some changes and i'm off to the track again soon.
