The Rebuild
I was gonna do some work on a set of D0VE heads, but decided against it. I wanted to try the D3VE heads. This will keep the compression ratio lower so that its more streetable.

Taking the engine down I discovered that the guy that built this Mustang first didnt really know what he was doing, he took the heads that were on it and ported the intake bigger than the gaskets, didnt touch the exhaust, and left exhaust manifolds on it. This poor combo resulted in a lazy intake charge, and not nearly enough exhaust to take advantage of the hogged out intakes.
A quick trip to the You-Pull-It and I was able to find a 78 Lincoln Town Car with a 460, and 37 bucks later (God bless half off day) I had a fresh set of D3VE heads, valve covers, rockers push rods and head bolts.

Before and after the bowl blend

Amazingly enough I discovered that the block had been done .030 over, with forged aluminum pistons.

Painted the Edlebrock Intake

The C-6 is slipping so instead of rebuilding it, I had a buddy build (Props BJ) a C-4 for it, the C-4 is supposed to be worth 50 horsepower since its reciprocating weight is much less than the C-6, not to mention the C-4 is a lot lighter.
