This is a 1988 4ws (four-wheel-steering) Mazda 626 Turbo. I found it on ebay (August 2005)for $600 buy it now. I drove it from Dixon, IL; it belonged to Military Personel who was stationed in Texas (check the stickers). Reverse went out on the automatic transmission and he parked it in 1996. This picture is how it looked when i bought it.
I tore out the automatic and prepared to install a five speed transmission. It was more complex for the 4ws than any other Mazda i have experienced. Mounting the transmission to the engine (3hrs) was the easiest parts of the switch.
Rip out the dash and remove the single brake pedal assembly.
The 4ws pipes were leaking. The only way to get new ones are through Mazda. There were only 3000 of these 4ws units made so the are RARE!
This is another MX6 that i sold to a frend...but kept the rims.

Since then I have installed eibach lowering springs, dual oil catch cans, msd blaster coil, paceshi--er exhaust which I hate the noise, flushed out power steering fluid for fresh ATF. 30,000 miles and not a single problem with the 4ws. Total cost since I bought the car is well over $3500 invested into this $600 car,but it has been to Tennessee and back regularly since I rebuilt the entire thing. It has new engine, drivetrain, transmission, every replaceable part was swapped for new. I will make another car domain about my project 4ws mx6, which is on jack stands in the driveway for the time being. I am contemplating selling this car and buying a 90-91 supra turbo. Thanks for the inquiry had lots of lookers few typer.
