I just picked this up from the original owner, a little old lady. These pictures are from the day I went to see it. It has 69,000 original miles, but was unfortunately left out in the yard for awhile and the paint suffered. Apparently it wouldn't start one day and after failing to get it running again, it just sat for years. It has a 1.6 Gas engine and 4 speed transmission. It's now in the hands of the body shop to get it back to its original glory and my plans are to put a turbo diesel engine and 5 speed treansmission in it, sort of like my other project, an 82 rabbit pickup. I also want to convert this to run on grease, just like my truck. If anyone out there can identify the paint code of this car, I'd like to know (it wasn't on the radiator support or door jamb like other rabbits). I am also considering replacing the black/white tweed seat upholstery with originals in case you know someone who has them. I will post more pics as progress continues. Thanks for looking!
