jslezak83's 1987 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer

This is my 1987 S10 Blazer. It was purchased in 1992 by my father and has been in the family ever since. It originaly had a 2.8L V6 and automatic transmission. It is the Tahoe model, which is the highest trim package. The only options it didn't have were a rear defogger and factory tach.

Look at her all stock, this brings me back a bit. Not too bad for being only 16 at the time. This is the best Before-and-After shots I have right now.

To date, she is on her 3rd drivetrain, and 4th is coming soon. In 2002, I swapped to a 1989 4.3L V6 and 700R4. After 4 years of faithful service, it was retired for a 305 TPI. I baught a complete '88 Z28 for $50, and pulled all the stuff I needed for the TPI swap. This motor then devloped a bad rod knock, and was replaced with a 350. The 700R4 remains, but in a modified form.

Heres the Factory 2.8L on the left, and the 4.3L that I swapped in 2002. Sorry for the bad pics, but all I had back then was 35mm.

Other custom touches I have added are a 2" lowered suspension, 16" ZQ8 (or Z28s) wheels, and a '92 front-end update. I have also added a '92 radiator support when I put in the 350. so now, the headlight fit correctly. There are also many more small things I won't bother to list here.

I have never raced it at a track yet, but I hope to run mid 13's soon. Im working on getting a proper tune for the ECM, as the 350 still runs on the 305 PROM. It runs good on the street, but rev it up, and it runs out of fuel by 3000rpm.

Here is my blown up 305TPI. It was pretty quick for a 305; probably good for mid 14s. Since these pics were taken, I have removed the A/C. At this time the motor is currently under going a head swap. Its also getting a new harness, and a SyTy ECM.
