Here's my beater, the non-Barbie Jeep. Current mods include:
1.) 4.7L stroker with the usual intake/exhuast modifications.
2.) A hodgepodge of front suspension components including Rusty's 8" coils, Rusty's upper & lower control arms, Rubicon Express swaybar disconnects, a crappy no-name track bar, dropped pitman arm, and soon to be replaced stock steering.
3.) Rear axle SOA, extended shackles.
4.) Yukon Super 30 kit in the front axle, Yukon Super 44 in the rear, both with OX lockers. 4:56's in both.
5.) Homemade front/rear bumpers.
6.) Recent try on my first exo-cage (it's removable!).
7.) Plasma cutter gone wild front fenders, removed rear flares and hammered the edges flat.
8.) Removal of every last peice of emmisions control... I love Montana.
Good/Bad and what it's for - I really need to upgrade the transmission. The BA/10 is going to die a horrible death soon. I will be swapping in a NV3550. The axles still need trussed. A larger radiator is in the works, with an auxiliary electric fan. The front portion of the 'cage is still a little hokey, I will be stripping it off soon to start over. I still need to buy a winch - after the last good stuck, I cancelled my gym membership after using the hi-lift jack to extricate.
This thing eats mud/rocks/trails all summer - but my real passion is snow 'wheeling. It drifts on top with the fat baloonish IROK 36x15.50 bias plies @ 10lbs. The lockers make it damn near unstoppable when combined with a light weight pick-up like this. The 4.7 still has some quirks, but I will recommend doing it to anyone... The torque of a stroked six is unfreaking believable off idle.
I'm currently "on vacation" in Kuwait. I can't wait to get home and wrench on this old girl some more...
