This is my 1992 16v GTI. It is Montana Green (LB6Z) which is a semi-rare color and also seems to be a hate it or love it color. For many people, this is their favorite color on a MK2 GTI, while others can't stand it. I bought this car October 24, 2006 from a fellow Penn State student who needed it gone asap because he was getting another car ('90 Honda Accord) and only had one parking spot at his apartment. To say the least, becuase he urgently needed it gone, I paid incredibly little for it, considering its condition, year, model, and color. She currently has 227,xxx miles (11/09), admittedly high. All the records, including the original window sticker and dealer documents, are in my possession and I've organized them chronologically into a nice three ring binder. Analyzing them in detail reviewed a number of things, one of which is that the car was bought new by a man in upstate New York on February 17, 1992. He soon moved to New Hampshire and owned the car all the way through June, 2004. He then sold it to a young woman for $1700, who owned the car for less than a year. In May of 2005, the car was sold to the kid I purchased it from. It is very apparent from the records that the first owner cared very well for the GTI, while the subsequent owners did not, hence, it now needs some TLC. The car has never been in a single accident, fender bender or otherwise and the the body is surprisingly free of dings. The full Recaro interior is MINT and the red stripe dash is crack free. Unfortunately, the original BBS RM's are long gone (seem to have been removed while the young woman owned it). I've got some nice plans for this beauty and I'm shooting for the OEM+ look and eventually a full rebuild on the 16v.

Overall, it is a very complete, solid, and clean example of the last year of 16v GTI.
