Tony407's 2007 Infiniti M45
This is my 2007 M45 Sport. Diamond Graphite with black leather interior. Advanced Technology package. Aerodynamic kit. Mods so far include tinted windows and an Element114 exhaust. I have an Injen cold air intake on the way...

Rear View. Notice the dual tips of the Element114 exhaust. Using a G-Tech Pro accelerometer before and after the exhaust mod, this added about 7 hp to the rear wheels, took .1 seconds off my 0-60 time, .2 seconds off my 1/4 mile time, and added 2 mph to my 1/4 mile trap speed. It also gives a very aggresive, but not overbearing sound to the otherwise luxury-whisper-quiet Infiniti 4.5L V-8 engine.

Here are pictures of the stock muffler (left photo) and the Element114 muffler (right photo).

Here's the middle section installed on the car (left photo). And on the right is a photo of of the stock middle section (top) compared with the Element114 middle section (bottom). I've had a few aftermarket exhausts over the years and this is by far the highest-quality setup I've owned. It also took less than 45 mintues to install at a local muffler shop. It bolted right on without any issues whatsoever.

The engine. 4.5-liter 32-valve DOHC V8. Low-friction molybdenum-coated pistons, microfinished camshafts, titanium intake and exhaust valves, and Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System. 325 hp @ 6,400 rpm and 336 ft-lb @ 4,000 rpm (stock). I just added the Injen cold air intake system. I haven't tested the car yet to see what kind of gains it's given me, but it really improved throttle response and it sounds downright mean at wide open throttle.

Here's a closer view of the intake. This is the second Injen intake I've owned, and this one is built just as solid as the last. Install time was a little longer than I anticipated, but it went together very nicely. The filter sits behind the front bumper. The mud guard on the bottom of the car seems like it will do a good job of keeping rain, grit, or mud away from the filter.

I read that about the intake, that is crazy and I almost didnt get it because of what you wrote. Im still thinking about sending it back, still looking into it.
TL v M45, if they change the TL for 09 and boost the hp, I say hell yeah for the type S. The M is a nicer car as far as comfort and gadgets are concerned, Im not sure how they made the M so comfortable and still handle like it does. The TL has a stiffer ride. I would have gotten the TL S but they didnt boost the hp enough and Im not sure how much they can with FWD, it has some torque steer! The other thing you wouldnt like about the TL compared to the M is the toque, the TL has to be in the higher RPM band to get the power, so you feel like you are running it hard all the time if you drive it spirited. If they get the hp up around 310-320, I would be on it!
I almost got the comptech SC for it, that would have put it at about 320hp, but that was 3K (I think) just to buy it.

I did some controlled tests with a G-Tech accelerometer with my stock car, with the exhaust, and then with the intake + exhaust. It took .1 seconds off my 0-60 time and .2 seconds off my 1/4 mile time with the exhaust only. I had a decent HP increase too. When I added my intake, I lost those gains and brought it back to nearly stock times and HP again. I was pretty careful about my testing methods and believe them to be fairly accurate. You can check them out at Freshalloy.com under my user name Tony407. How do you like your TL? I was seriously considering getting rid of my M and getting a TL...who knows, I might still.

Thanks, I should have it back this week for sure and the intake and exhaust should be in next week or so. They knocked 20 off the intake and the exhaust was on sale for 851 and they gave me free shiping from Stillen. I'll let you know when I get it hooked up. I'll also post some pics. I am a little skeptical about hp gains they both post, but I hope they are close!
I handed down my 04 Acura TL to my wife and it had a Comptech exhaust and a K&N. The sound was the biggest benefit. Hard to tell for sure if you dont dyno or time them.
Thanks a lot for all the info you have posted!

Oh man that sucks! You'll like the intake for sure. I can't comment on the Stillen exhaust but I imagine you'll like it too!! Hope you get your car back soon and as good as it was new.

Hi Tony, Awesome car, but Im a little jaded because I just bought the identical car about 2 months ago, even the color! It is in the shop at the moment, some non driver wiped out the left rear and the left 2 doors when he couldnt stop for an ambulance like I could. Man I was blown; I have 1200 miles on it and got to drive it for 2 weeks. To cheer myself up I ordered the Injen Intake and a Stillen exhaust. I hope I didnt make a mistake getting the Stillen Exhaust.
