 The Story

So I got this '90 Ford Festiva Feb'06

Finding this gem in the rough (you'll see why) was a result of the want ad. I got a call from a guy that told me he had a Fiesta that he would sell. He said, "It will run, but needs work. It isn't advertised so you can come look at it whenever you get time." I got his number and that was it.

Well it thought it was probably another $100 dollar beater. I decided to go look after a week or so. I called a got directions. He said he would have to get it out of the barn so we set a time for late the next day.

When I arrived I realized this was a working farm complete with a variety of livestock etc. This is what I it looked like as it came out of nearly 5 years of storage.

I turned in the drive and was surprised to see it was Yellow. Well I was in for many more nice surprises.

As I was looking it over. The story unfolded as the guy was telling me of the history of it.

It turns out the guy had bought it new for his mother-in-law. She lived a few short miles from town and she rarely drove. When she did it was only to town and back. She did't like the 5 speed manual shift. One day she was stopped by a train and she got to close to the track. The safety gates came down on the cars hood! She panicked and backed up quick as she could. This left a series of dents as the arm of the gate kept trying to go down.

Well, she refused to drive anymore after that and the car just mostly sat unused for a year or two. The guy's daughter reached driving age and began to use the car for school. The first snow of the winter season was the day she would meet up with a guardrail. The guy had it towed to his house. Thinking he could fix it he pulled off all the damaged parts and decided it was to much for him, so in the barn it went with 31,458k miles.

Its rare to find a Festiva like yours with low miles and such a crazy history behind it. Plus, I agree with what you did to the deer after what happened. I used to live in the mid-west, and always imagined turning a deer into sausage if it hit my car LOL! 5*s

Great story. I really liked the car with the body kit, I would like to see it when you fix it, but I would recomend yellow again, silver would make it look ordinary. Thank you for the share of a nice car. Alex
