This car was restored in 1997. With the help of the guys in my shop the car came out nice. The green was a custom color that was actually on a race car that ran Talladega with Dennis Setzer driving. The paint was left over.I was in the process of thinking of a different color because it was ugly lime green. The race car had just been finished when it hit me that the color would look great on the Cougar. The original 351 Clevland 2 barrell has been bought up a bit. A complete MSD ignition system along with a Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 barrel with a new matching manifold has bought the car to life a bit.
The original bumpers were rusted but thanks to John's Custom Cougar in Michigan and UPS for shipping a lot of replacement original parts were found. The wheels are deep dish Crager's with 60 series Goodrich T/A's. It gives it a wide stance. The interior is original and clean as the outside. The radio is a Kenwood with remote control and CD player. Two 6x9 door speakers provide nice sound over the dual exhaust turbo sound. Auto Meter Ultra Lite gauges keep you informed of the motor's vital signs. The right price can drive it away.
