This is my 1985 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series. I bought it about a year and a half ago for $900, and drove it until December 2005, when I bought my other car, the 1989 Ford LTD Crown Victoria P72. The reason is that the engine in the Lincoln was apparently very poorly maintained at some point, and so it has a lot of blow by and very low oil pressure.
Before long, I will be building a mild 4 bbl 351W engine for this car, installing a shift kit (and possibly building a wide ratio trans as well), and installing a 3.55 limited slip differential. There will be suspension upgrades as well, but they will be few, since I want it to handle decently but still ride like a Lincoln should. Think of it as a "muscle cruiser."
Enjoy the pictures.

Front end

The rear bumper is rusted through and needs to be replaced.

At some point, someone put a dent in the right front fender, and then tried to pound it back out, making it far worse. I need to find a nice, rust free, straight fender. Shouldn't be too hard at a boneyard.

The tired out, CFI 302. But not for too much longer. 4 bbl 351 coming soon!

Interior

The front armrests on these cars are notorious for splitting. J.C. Whitney makes caps for them; guess I'll have to get a couple and fix these.

This car was ordered with the fully digitized dash. The left panel is the fuel gauge, the center is the speedometer, and the right is the message center, which displays the time, date, diagnostic problems, and trip computer information.

This car did have the premium sound system installed in it at one point, but some genius decided to take that out and replace it with this radio. It barely works (AM reception is hopeless and FM isn't a whole lot better), and only the rear speakers are hooked up. There are also supposed to be speakers in the dash and in the front doors; the front door speakers have been removed entirely. If I can find an entire premium sound system in a boneyard car, I'll buy it and put it in this one.
