I bought this 1972 Mach 1 in July of 2004, the first car I ever purchased. It was sold to a relative in June of 2007.
Here's a picture of the Mach 1 with my 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle and my dad's 1975 Camaro
It had a 351-ci 2-V Cleveland mated with an FMX three-speed automatic transmission. Soon after purchasing the car, I bought a 1971 4-V 351-ci Cleveland with a C-6 automatic (both of which I've since held on to). I was planning to install the new engine and transmission but sold the Mustang before I got to it.
The Mustang had a Medium Bright Yellow exterior with Ginger interior.
A quick mock up of the 1971 351-ci 4-V Cleveland I was planning on dropping into the Mustang:
The specs for the new engine and transmission I was going to install (and still own) are listed below:
Specifications:
Engine: 351-ci 2-V Cleveland (stock)
Transmission: FMX 3-speed automatic
Rear-end: 2.75:1
Compression Ratio: 8.6:1

Specifications of engine/trans. combo I had planned:
Engine: 1971 351-ci 4-V Cleveland
- Edelbrock Torker intake manifold
- Dual exhaust with custom-built headers
- Manley intake & exhaust valves
- CompCams roller rockers
- CompCams Double-roller timing chain
- Moroso electric-driven water pump
Transmission: C-6 3-speed automatic with B&M Stage 2 shift kit
