I got this mav from my father, who owned his share of classic domestics like a torino cobra, mustang mach one and several mavericks. He aquired this one from my uncle who owed him and gave it to him to settle his debt.My dad then sold it to a couple who took it basically raped it by stealing parts like the holley carb and installing some crappy parts, they then gave it back to my dad for free.He let it stand for 12 years, then when we moved to my grandmothers house he gave it to me about 4 years ago. When i found it it was a torn up and beat from the sun especially.I discovered many things like the 289 engine was swapped from a totaled 65 mustang "A" code, The heads look like they have been ported and the engine also had a an edelbrock intake on it.One of my uncles who owns a 66 for falcon help me to get it running we also replaced many things and finally got it running.

Here are the pics of how it was when i got it,Then we re-did the wiring put a freshly rebuilt carb and got it to run.(click here to see vid[2005])

Some of the new parts i added were a new 76 maverick 22 gal gas tank, a gt grant mahogony steering wheel that i got for free, sunpro tach and gauges, had to weld the hole in the trunk and add a new lock, i even had a 3rd brake light from a ford tempo which i removed since it was causing me electric problems,a edlebrock air cleaner(will add a K&N later),i'm redoing the whole brakes, i converted to the smaller bumpers,i added tempo front buckets and a probe rear bucket seat, had to take out the catalytic coverter bulge to get the buckets in,also i converted it to power steering using parts off a 73 maverick, i also put in some big floor mats to pass off for a carpet.also i added mopar speakers which i then replaced with 1300 watt ones and added a 60 watt amp to them,i also have a 200 watt amp installed that i will be using for the two 10" subs in the trunk.I painted the engine with Duplicolors Ford Blue.Recently i'm working on installing a rochester Q-jet to finally take a test drive.Just picked up a holley 4169(6919) for $15.
