Update:
After taking up my first page catching you up with things I've done so far, it is now time for the next phase:
I have gathered all the parts to upgrade my Magnacharger to a 90mm LS2 throttle body from the current 78mm stock truck unit. This was quite a task, as it requires a new TAC module to allow the truck to control the fly by wire (cable free) electronic throttle body, a harness adaptor from Speartech Fuel Injection Systems to plug it in, and a hard to get "J" tube that is designed for the new Magnusson MP-122 Magnacharger. I am also going to be performing a cam swap using a Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam, as it is a proven performer on forced induction applications. It is very well mannered in traffic, somewhat emmissions friendly, and has a smooth idle - but really comes to life when the boost comes up. The cam is ground by Competition Cams to LPE specs.
While the front of the engine and radiator are apart, I'm also going to add dual electric cooling fans used in the '05 and up GM trucks. This will not only cool the radiator, trans cooler and heat exchager better in tough LA traffic, it will also free up a some horsepower (up to 15 from what I've heard) by getting rid of that big ol' clutch fan. As an additional benefit, it will clean up the front of the engine a little. I got the e-fan assembly and Nelson harness for a great package price through Scogin-Dickey Parts Center in TX, visit them at SDPC2000.com.
Installation should happen the weekend of 2/10/07, so more pics to come! Until then, here are a couple pics of the 90mm LS2 throttle body. It's pretty huge compared to the stock tb, look how this bottle of drinking water fits in there!
