Jim's 1990 Mitsubishi Mighty Max
Hello everyone! Well, there has been an addition to the fleet. I certainly was not in the market for another car, but the need was there. I needed a vehicle that could carry my motorcycle, canoe or anything else. The Saturn just could not handle this job. Enter the Nagoya Nightmare. When I saw this truck I just had to have it, and spent my savings on it. What an awesome truck. I have only had it for about a month, so I have not had much time to work on it. I am hoping to get it into like-new condition by next summer.
MY NAVAJO AND THE MITSUBISHI MEET FOR THE FIRST TIME!
This truck was built in Nagoya, Japan in 1989. Here are the features/lack there of!
-2.4L I-4 SOHC 116hp at 5,500rpm and 135lb-ft at 3,500 rpm
-Manual steering
-Manual 5-speed tranny
-Manual cable-clutch
-A/C (yes, it has air conditioning!)
-Rear wheel drive
-2 Speaker 7-watt AM/FM/Cassette radio
-Heater
-Seat belts (a plus)
-Rear sliding glass window
-Bedliner
-Cargo rack (Awesome for the canoe)
-Toolbox
MY MITSUBISHI MEETS THE KAWASAKI AND THE RX-7!!!!
It may sound like crap, but it is awesome for me. I love old Japanese cars and this one was awesome. I love manual-everything! I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet. Currently it is the daily driver. I may put some time into it and maybe a paint-job in the future? The truck is surprisingly fast, and has good brakes. Although, it handles like a dead elephant!
When I first saw it I just had to have it. It has that wonderful Japan-1980's look to it. It had low miles, only 83,000! It was all manual. Awesome!
THE INTERIOR

So far, I have done some light work to it. All new fluids, new plugs and wires etc etc. The frame had started to rust pretty bad, so I did some work down there. That is on the next page.

My 1993 Saturn SL1 runabout car. Nothing special, but a good little car! It needed a lot of work to clean it up! It gets 44 mpg too. Chech it out! The link is below to it on Car Domain. (Page updated 11-23-06!!)

This is my Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic. Yes, just an 800, but it sounds great with the cobra drag pipes!!! Kinda fast too! The 1500cc was too expensive for me!
