This is my 2002 Hyundai Elantra in the burgandy red paint and the tan interior with the color matching seat covers. A set or blue neons under the dash for accents on the floor, driving lighting and when the alarm is activated.
Fuzzy music (fm) is for my inlaws and parents. Except my aunt and uncle who also love XM Radio and the listening choices it brings. i even have it in my toolbox at work and all xm accounts come with it online as well from any internet service.
No sound system is complete without the source unit. My choice for this ride is the Alpine CDA7894 CD/MP3/AUX/XM radio with 4 volt 3 set preouts and even a switch to turn off the internal power amp of the deck so as to play cleaner fidelity sound. Yes for the tech heads it has Zero bit Mute, multi changer compatibility, source tone memory and motorized face for fly looks and playability.
Component Fusion Separates in the doors for an upgraded taste but not like my GTS. If your gonna roll you need beats and components only go so far so Eclipse picks up the ball and runs with a 10" comp woofer mounted in a downfire enclosure in the trunk that delivers 130dbs of pumping bass. The trick to a downfire is that if a woofers output wave can strike a surface and have an unreflected wave return, it can increase the output by upto 1 db for a 10" and as much as 1.5 dbs for a 12" woofer. This is all provided that the box was built by a skilled expert in enclosure design (ME). Notice how the box takes up wasted space and even the 40% of the 60/40 split rear seat folds down perfectly. I could throw a set of steak knives back there and a body and the woofer wouldn't be damaged.
I even installed handfree for my cell phone and aux input for my Napster To Go mp3 player or even a guitar and mic from a PA stack (musician talk).
Its important to understand the importance of a full functioning system in your car and with that in mind there are 3 things that should always be in mind of a proper installation. 1 is wheres it gonna go, 2 how to hook it up and last but not least in the case of electronics how will it be treated. Yes lets get emotional with our electronics, cuddly if you want. I ahve a asian car which in the compact to midsize class means the alternator puts out ablout 60 to 80 amps of current to the battery. Now when you turn on the car the BUS (main electrical system pull) pulls about 40 amps so in my car I'm down to 30 amps left and my system pulls 40 amps so when I turn it up you see this lights at night dimming as so many cars do when there bumpin' their MADD BASS. Not the case in my ride. I have 2 amps, an Eclipse 4 channel and a Crunch 2 channel and together they need upgrades. I added a new 650 cold cranking battery under the hood with all wire by Monster Cable and a Monster Cable 1 farad Capacitor just inches from the battery. It doesn't matter how close the cap is to the battery or the amps, its a myth that you should put it close the the amp, a myth not a fact. Then I ran the amps on 8 gauge cable. Tip: always over due the job on sealing holes through the firewalls and making solid grounds. I always use at least 3 screws on grounds to help prevent ground loops.
